 rzlich ein zu einem Vortrag und Film in unserer Reihe "Iconic Houses" zu "
 Fallingwater" von Frank Lloyd Wright mit Lynda S. Waggoner\, Direktorin vo
 n Fallingwater\, Pennsylvania\, USA.\nWer kennt es nicht: Das Haus „Fall
 ingwater“ von Frank Lloyd Wright\, erbaut 1936-39. Millionen von Besuche
 rn sind schon hierher gepilgert – zu diesem Haus\, das auf vorbildliche 
 Weise Architektur und Natur verbindet. In den Felsen gebaut\, den Lauf des
  Wasserfalls widerspiegelnd\, gilt es als Ikone der modernen Architektur. 
 Die Bedeutung von Frank Lloyd Wright für die Entwicklung der modernen\, u
 nd insbesondere der amerikanischen Architektur\, kann nicht hoch genug ein
 geschätzt werden. Er ist DER amerikanische Architekt und „Fallingwater
 “ das herausragende Gebäude in seinem umfangreichen Oeuvre. „Fallingw
 ater“ wurde für die Familie Kaufmann gebaut und ist seit 1964 ein Hausm
 useum. Wir freuen uns sehr\, dass wir die Direktorin Lynda Waggoner gewinn
 en konnten\, unserem Publikum das Gebäude „Fallingwater“ und seinen A
 rchitekten Frank Lloyd Wright in Köln zu präsentieren.\nDas UAA Ungers A
 rchiv für Architekturwissenschaft ist Mitglied des internationalen Netzwe
 rks „Iconic Houses“\, das architektonisch bedeutende Häuser des 20. J
 ahrhunderts\, die der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich sind\, verbindet. Nach P
 hilip Johnsons „Glasshouse“\, Mies von der Rohes „Villa Tugendhat“
  ist dies nun die dritte Kooperation mit dem UAA Ungers Archiv für Archit
 ekturwissenschaft\, in der wir amerikanische Architekten und ihr Werk anha
 nd eines „Iconic Houses“ präsentieren.\nNach dem Vortrag von Lynda Wa
 ggoner zeigen wir den Film „Fallingwater\, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Master

 of Fallingwater\, Pennsylvania\, USA. \nWho hasn’t heard of it: The hous
 e “Fallingwater” by Frank Lloyd Wright\, built from 1936 through 1939.
  Millions of visitors have pilgrimaged there – to this house that unique
 ly combines architecture with nature. Built into the hillside and over a w
 aterfall\, it reflects the cascade of the water\, becoming an icon of mode
 rn architecture. The importance of Frank Lloyd Wright in the development o
 f modern architecture\, and especially in American architecture is immense
 . He is THE American architect and Fallingwater is the most representative
  building in his expansive oeuvre. Built for the Kaufmann family\, Falling
 water has been a house museum since 1964.\nWe are very happy to welcome Ly
 nda S. Waggoner to present us in Cologne the Iconic house “Fallingwater
 ” and its architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Ms Waggoner is Director of Falli
 ngwater\, Vice President of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and on th
 e board of the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy as well as the Icon
 ic Houses Network\n\nThe UAA Ungers Archiv für Architekturwissenschaft is
  a member of Iconic Houses\, an international network connecting architect
 urally important private houses of the 20th century that are open to the p
 ublic. After Philip Johnson’s “Glasshouse” and Mies of the Rohe’s 
 “Villa Tugendhat” it is the third cooperation with UAA Ungers Archiv f
 ür Architekturwissenschaft in which we present American architects and th
 eir work with the example of an iconic house.\nAfter the lecture we will s
